Facilitator Professional Development Schedule
During the fall 2009 semester, facilitators can choose from the following options to meet their professional development requirements.
FOR-PD Recertification Training for Webcourses@UCF
Those facilitators who were not able to take the summer training to prepare for the transition to the new Webcourses@UCF will have another opportunity to enroll this fall. The course will be offered from October 5 through November 2, 2009.
This training is a redevelopment of the FOR-PD Facilitator Training and Certification Course and covers the use of the Webcourses@UCF tools and facilitation fundamentals. Facilitators only need to take certain lessons of the course.
Please watch the discussion board and your email for information on registration for this course and requirements.
Response to Intervention Training
This fall FOR-PD facilitators can choose to take the Problem Solving and Response to Intervention course offered by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and the Response to Intervention Teaching Learning Connections project (RTI-TLC).
This self-paced, four module course, will provide professional development for facilitators that will assist with facilitating the FOR-PD course content. Facilitators wishing to take this course simply need to sign up on the Florida Response to Intervention website.
The For Facilitators Only discussion board will contain an RTI discussion topic where facilitators who take the course can discuss what they are learning and how the information assists with facilitating FOR-PD course content. Upon completion of the course, facilitators should notify FOR-PD who will verify completion with the RTI-TLC project and document participation in the facilitator’s record.
FOR-PD Literacy Blog
Once again, facilitators who participate in the conversation on the FOR-PD Literacy Blog will meet their professional development requirement. This semester the topic of the blog will focus on Response to Intervention.
FFF Resources
As always, facilitators can respond to the resources in the FFF on the discussion board in the For Facilitators Only section. Facilitators who respond to all four resources in a semester will receive a certificate for suggested professional development points, which some districts may honor.
For Facilitators Only Discussions
Facilitators who engage in conversation with other facilitators on the discussion board in the For Facilitators Only section will receive credit for meeting the professional development requirement. This professional learning community is a terrific resource where facilitators can discuss research, educational trends, facilitation basics, literacy, literature, and the FOR-PD course.
